Dearest Parishioners,
Here is our new parish emblem – the fruit of prayer and reflection. The emblem centers upon the Cross – the Cross of Christ, the Cross of our salvation, the Cross that St. Bridget used to explain the Gospel message. Encircling the Cross, as in an embrace, are the three major sectors of our parish: the University Ministry, the Glassboro Area Parishioners, and the Hispanic Ministry. Each sector flows into the other as a continuous chain and all three sectors embrace the cross in love and unity. Below the Cross in English and Spanish is a motto to guide us and help us to reflect: “The Cross of Christ Unites Us.”
My dear friends, as we move forward united as one family, may our unity become stronger and more loving as we come to know one another better and share our gifts in the spirit of stewardship. Let us embrace TOGETHER the Cross: sign of our salvation from sin, symbol of the Father’s love for the world, instrument of continuous forgiveness and mercy, and the global sign of Christianity.
Let us not take for granted the Cross or our unity in the faith. Faith and unity are fostered through daily prayer, selfless generosity, the Sacraments, forgiveness, reflective understanding, and a deeper knowledge of the Church’s teaching. May St. Bridget continually watch over our parish family.
